From renowned St. John artisan Tom Krall comes the Bad Sisters Bracelet, a unique design borne from the 2017 hurricane season, and next week only you could win one at Lucky Chops Lounge!

8 months ago St. John was visited by not one but two category 5 hurricanes in a two-week period. First, on Sept. 6 Hurricane Irma hit with sustained winds of 185mph causing mass destruction across our tiny island including leveling our former dining space, Windy Level. So no one could believe their luck when two weeks later Hurricane Maria followed exacerbating destruction in the entire region. But on St. John life came back quickly, rebuilding began, and now there are shops and restaurants open in Cruz and Coral Bay.

Through those experiences came the inspiration for the Bad Sisters Bracelet worn not only in remembrance of the events of last September, but also as a sign of solidarity and strength amongst all who were affected but not defeated by Hurricane IrMaria. There is a beauty in the strength and perseverance of the St. John community that is celebrated in Krall’s design.

We consider ourselves lucky to have weathered the storms and to be open today as Cruz Bay’s newest restaurant and bar. And next week (May 29-June 2) only customers of Lucky Chops Lounge can get lucky too by entering to win a 2 Bad Sisters Bracelet (ask your server for details). Someone will win every night with an additional prize on Saturday! Lucky Chops Lounge will also be donating a portion of proceeds from our Bad Sisters Bracelet Giveaway to the Island Health & Wellness Center, a non-profit primary care practice serving the community of St. John.

But don’t worry if you don’t win one of our Bad Sisters Bracelets, these amazing accessories are available for purchase at Caravan Gallery. This shop, located in Mongoose Junction, is a local favorite for hand crafted jewelry and exotic gifts, and they donate $10 from each 2 Bad Sisters Bracelet sale to a St. John non-profit.
